Inspired by a 2014 event that brought together representatives of several Orange County Affiliate Bars to discuss diversity in the legal profession, 20 Chapman University Fowler School of Law students from various existing organizations joined together this year to create a new student “super group” called the Diversity Symposium and Publication Initiative. Professor Julie Marzouk led the press conference on October 7 announcing the launch of the Voluntades of O.C. Coalition, a consortium of legal service providers (including Chapman University Fowler School of Law’s Bette and Wylie Aitken Family Protection Clinic), law enforcement agencies, social service providers and the Mexican Consulate.
