Today the Chapman University Argyros School of Business and Economics (ASBE) (ASBE) is hosting the ACG Cup and we are wishing our Argyros Team the best of luck! Anyone interested in supporting the Chapman team can come to Beckman Hall, 404 anytime after 2pm on February 23rd. "The ACG Cup case competition provided great insight into the life of an investment banker. We had a week to evaluate a number of possible strategic alternatives for a company, and present a recommendation to the company’s “board of directors” – a panel of judges that work in investment banking, private equity, and law. Although the case itself was heavily focused on mergers and acquisitions, we found ourselves applying concepts we learned in all areas of the MBA program to arrive at our final decision. It was a lot of hard work, but it provided invaluable real-world insight and experience that can’t be synthesized in a regular classroom setting. I had the pleasure of working with Bassam Helou, Nick Meyers, and Kasim Idrees, three talented gentlemen from the MBA program – and I look forward to representing Chapman University with them in the regional case competition against ten other California schools (including University of California, Los Angeles, University of Southern California, Loyola Marymount University, and Pepperdine University Graziadio School of Business and Management)!"
