#TBT: Earlier this month, #FoodScience graduate student Sophia Pollack took first place in the Aquatic Food Products division competition at the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) Annual Meeting in Chicago! Her poster was titled "Evolution of DNA Sequencing Methodologies for the Identification of Fish Species in Consumer Complaint Samples." Congratulations Sophia! #ChapmanSciences #SummerOfScience

#SummerOfScience: Wenzhao Li, a PhD student in the Computational and Data Sciences program working with Prof. Hesham El-Askary, is spending his summer as a research intern in the National Supercomputer Center in Jinan (NSCCJN). NSCCJN is one of six national supercomputing centers in China. It was ranked as # 13 in the TOP-500 fastest supercomputers in the world when it was first launched in 2011. Wenzhao is running Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model in the NSCCJN #supercomputer to dynamically downscale validated atmospheric data to high horizontal resolution with a time span matching the power outage data. #ChapmanSciences #ScienceSelfieCU
